sweet debate victory...
i hope i never forget that moment... that... that... moment... in that hall... with... all of our team (our team referring to all nj debaters)... screaming... laughing... even crying.... jumping... hugging... grabbing and shaking each other... congratulating each other. being So SO SOO elated.

*backtrack -e/events
started off super bad. horrible sore throat -practically lost my voice. thought i couldn't debate. but still debated. in my croaky voice. we had sparred w/ nanhua 1st - though they were C div they were gd!! anyway our case is so unprepared. cos of all those tests (both ours and the seniors')... and sigh* even if i really failed them cos of debaate (though debate isn't an excuse ok i noe) i think it's worth it.

won the debate against fairfield methodists, but by a real slim margin- i thought we lost at 1st. motion was "this house believes that teenagers should be tried as adults." i got best speaker but i so darn din deserve it at all[at 1st a bit upset over tt but was over it =)]. anyway we watched the UWC-st thersa's debate in the same rm later, abt erm... oh abt fast food countries responsible for compensation for health stuff lah. abt nine, left 4 Kovan 4 dinner.
i always loved walking round at night. the serenity... the places we went were kinda lighted. but anyway =)

gathered in the hall at 10.15pm for the results- to the quarters!! in the end they only started announcing 20 mins later -because the 8th/9th/10th position of the B division was real close. only top 8 will get into quarters.

and guess what? we were the 8th. really thought we couldn't make it - hope diminished when it hit 5th, 6th, then 7th...

but it's when u so nearly missed it, and so luckily got it, tt you would treasure it.
my gosh i was sooo (and still am but cooled down over tt moment) haaaaapy abt it.
the hall was exploding. with joy (for some). scgs was doing this cheer... we din lah..
anyway this is far more than just getting into top 8. it's a sweet victory... a... a... wonderful moment filled with excitement and happiness etched in the fabric of the universe.

njdebate totally rocks. now for the quarters a wk later. hmmm.
