* Friday, July 16, 2004 * Resident of the Crust
Am currently home from science ctr. Laughed so much thanks to Karen 'n' Charissa... bbut some people have refused to tell me what they were laughing over lunch. Hmmmmrpphh, nvm. And am going to retreat to the warmth of my bed soon *yawns* =) Sometimes, I wonder. But most of the time, I don't care. If Life were to be like the Earth; Crust, Mantle, Core, I dwell usually only on the Crust. Where ... when lucky and with blessings, one can live with great fun laughter peace & joy. Or... when ... there is weather disturbance... end up shrouded in haze, bounced around in a tornado or sinking in misery. Yet life (our Earth-like sphere here) is not just the Crust. What happens on the crust depends on what occurs below. But me is too superficial & not-bothered to bother about it. Or perhaps, homo sapiens are born to be inhibitants of the Crust alone. Based on my observations. People [like me] seem to wonder more about outer space than about geological rocks. But why do we care what's above, if we don't know what's below? Why do we seek to venture outside... when we don't even know our own home? (If I'm not wrong) People have mapped most of the visible universe. Yet, Earth's structure remains a theory. Actually, this thoughts were sparked off by the Proteins workshop today. And The Core movie. I feel kinda queasy with people altering life... creating life (by laboratory and not conventional means, of course)... I wonder how many DNA engineering scientists or whoever know what they're doing. The depths below... Forbear to judge, for we are sinners all- William Shakes, Henry VI * * * * * * * * *
