* Saturday, January 01, 2005 * a big welcome to 2005
helen: already re-linked before you tagged! hohoho. Why do you not like 2005? It's a brand new year... yixi: haha yes it passed, happy new yr too! siying: okay I'm slow. I will change the dedications soon eunice: okay. thank you and happy new year! jac: alll rightttt I know einstein is not infallable, anyways einstein rocks whether his theory is real or not okay. i miss u too :( FEIFFAAAAANNN: yes yes you too! :) Celebrations have been called off in many places because of the earthquake and tsunamis. Norway and Sweden even declared a day of mourning or flag-at-half-post. Yet in Singapore sometimes I feel that all that is happening so near is so unreal. We were so so near to the epicentre of the earthquake, it's only Sumatra that absorbed the impact so we're all ok now 125,000 lives gone. But during normal times, everyday, I'm sure many people die of starvation or hygiene-related illnesses elsewhere. How much time and effort do we devote to them, in our daily lives? Surely we have the power to save people. Yes we donate, but only at most hundreds or thousands for most people, because it's within our comfort zone. Perhaps if we all go bankrupt we could save a few lives, but no, we don't want to go bankrupt for people who we may never see and who would don't make an impact on our lives But anyways 2005 crept in :) It's one revolution round the sun for our little green/blue/white/black-because of pollution(?) earth, and back to the same place again. Since class party & annabel's party I don't mind coming into a new year anymore. so cheers to 2005, our cute little almost-spherical-ball-of-an-earth, its earthling inhabitants, and of course, humanity.
